Minim Day 2026 Recap - Part 1

Minim Day 2026 Recap - Part 1

Dear Minim Family,

We hope you are all doing well!
It has not even been a month since Minim Day, and already many schools have wrapped up for the year and summer holidays are beginning. Time really does fly when you are surrounded by good people and beautiful memories.

Over the next two newsletters, we would love to take you back to Minim Day 2026! We were truly blessed with lovely weather, a warm and nurturing community, and children who brought so much openness and joy to the day.

This week, we are sharing highlights from the Minim Ukulele Picnic.

We started the day with setting up and decorating the display that will be used for the ukulele showcase. There is something special about a sign made by hand!

Before the music, we got our bodies moving with a family-friendly warm-up. Parents, children, grandparents... nobody was off the hook! :P

Then, it was time to rehearse the music together. Watching the children settle in with their ukuleles, parents helping to point at the music, and everyone coming together to help children love music was one of those quietly magical moments.

The preschool and elementary children gave it their very best for the Showcase. We are so proud of each and every one of them!

Some magical moments include seeing the children come up excitedly and determined faces to perform....

Children focused on making music together and singing their hearts out...

Dedicated teachers directing the music to help make it come together...

Supportive parents and family being there for their children...

It takes a village :)

Then came something fun for the parents: a massive Rock Scissors Paper challenge, with amazing prizes from our generous sponsors and contributors. Congratulations to all those who had Lady Luck by their side in this section!

At lunchtime, we were serenaded by the wonderful Kamal and Taka on saxophone and guitar. Their bossa nova and jazz renditions of familiar favourites were the perfect soundtrack to a picnic afternoon.

It was also really cute to see some children moving and grooving to the lunchtime music!

Thank you :)

It was heartwarming to see families come together to create joyful learning memories with their children.

Thank you to everyone who carved out time in your weekend to celebrate learning alongside them.

Next week, we will be sharing all the excitement from the Minim Math Race. There were so many moments worth capturing that we simply had to give it a newsletter of its own!

Wishing everyone a wonderful rest of the weekend. See you here next week!

Love,
All of us at Minim
