Class Details
The Minim Ukulele and Music Theory Foundations class is designed to provide a well-rounded music education by combining ukulele learning with essential music theory foundations. Children can look forward to learning the ukulele together, learning music together, singing songs we love together and most importantly, building friendships and a love for music that will last for a long time.
Minim Ukulele Component
Minim Ukulele classes focuses on the holistic approach to learning music and picking up the ukulele along the way. At the elementary level, the children can look forward to an in-depth study of songs, taking 2-3 months to learn the verses and chorus with different chord changes and strumming patterns.
Last term, we learnt songs from artistes like Alan Walker, Taylor Swift, BTS and Queen. These are specially arranged for the children according to their requests. We look forward to listening to what they are interested in this year! We have showcases 1-2 times a year for children to present their learnings to everyone. These showcases help children to practice public presentations amongst a supportive and nurturing environment and it is a joy to see them learn and grow through the years.
Music Theory Component
In addition to our signature ukulele curriculum, this class will include music theory components based on the ABRSM Music Theory Grade 1 syllabus. Each session will feature:
- Note Reading and Solfege Practice: Developing pitch accuracy and sight-reading skills.
- Rhythm Writing and Clapping: Enhancing understanding of rhythm and timing.
- ABRSM Theory Essentials: Covering topics like musical notation, time signatures, and key concepts from the ABRSM Grade 1 syllabus.

Our Policies
Refunds
Refunds will only be granted in the event of unforeseen school events or closure.
All refunds will be processed via bank transfer at end of school year (June-August).
Ticket Validity
All tickets are valid only within the term they were purchased. Kindly ensure to use them by the end of term.
Substitute Teachers
In the event that our main instructors are absent, Minim may assign a substitute teacher with suitable qualifications.
Safety
At Minim, every care is taken for the safety of our participants.
Parents and Guardians are not to hold Minim liable for damages, injury or illness in participation of our classes.
Image Rights
Minim reserves right to use photos and videos in publicity materials unless notified otherwise.
No sensitive information including names or ages of students will be disclosed.
